Launched: 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport and Evoque with petrol Ingenium engine
The Ingenium motor will be available in the SE and the HSE trim and is powerful than its diesel counterpart
Land Rover India has launched the 2018 Discovery Sport and Evoque with the new Ingenium petrol motor. The British carmaker has been keen on bringing the Ingenium motor to India and the first one to receive it on our shores was the Range Rover Velar. Only the SE and HSE trim in the Discovery Sport and the Evoque will be equipped with this new engine.
“The Ingenium petrol powertrain has been well accepted in the Range Rover Velar and we are now happy to offer our Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque customers the same refined and efficient experience with exceptional performance.” Says Rohit Suri, President and M.D, Jaguar Land Rover India.
The 2.0-litre, petrol-powered motor produces 247bhp and is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The British carmaker claims that the new Ingenium motor is more fuel efficient than the diesel motors which power most of its inventory. Other than this, everything else remains untouched. It still gets all the gizmos such as a 825W Meridian surround sound system, the Terrain Response System, gradient release control, terrain progress control, hill descent control and park assist. The 2018 models are equipped with Wi-Fi hotspot and InControl-Pro service which gets the Route Planner app and commute mode.Â
Prices for the 2108 Discovery Sport and the Evoque starts from Rs 49.2 lakh and Rs 51.06 lakh, respectively.
