Under the hood, it’s the same 2.0-litre, 189bhp, turbo-petrol powering the Cooper S and the Convertible, but now, it gets mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The updated Cooper D also uses the same 1.5-litre, three-pot, turbo-diesel motor as the pre-facelift model. While the power figures are identical as the previous ones, Mini claims that the 2018 Mini Cooper reduces fuel consumption by five percent.

In terms of safety features, it gets dual-front airbags, brake assist, a crash sensor, ABS, DSC, parking sensors, cornering brake control, among other features.
