It's about time Fiat did something to the ageing Punto. The Italian carmaker has finally refreshed its hatchback into the Punto 'Evo'.

The Punto Evo is a strict cosmetic job, as the mechanicals stay intact. Under the hood, you can have a petrol or a diesel block. The diesel engine is the same MultiJet that is available in two tunes – the 74bhp and the 89bhp. You get two petrol engine options – the 1.2-litre motor which is tuned to 67bhp, while the 1.4 motor makes 89bhp.

The Punto Evo in its new avatar gets pulled-back headlamps, complementing which is the pronounced grille that gets a chrome outline. The fog lamp housings too get a chrome finish, and the overall effect on the styling manages to freshen things up a bit. At the back, the tail-lamp cluster sees design changes.

Things have been refreshed on the inside too. The dashboard is completely redesigned, with soft-touch plastics and a dual-tone colour scheme.

The Fiat Punto Evo range starts from Rs 4.56 lakh for the base 1.2 petrol, and goes up to Rs 7.2 lakh for the top-of-the-line 1.3-litre 90hp diesel variant (both prices ex-showroom, Delhi). Here's the complete pricelist, for your convenience...

Active 1.2L Petrol: Rs 4.56 lakh

Emotion 1.4L Petrol: Rs 6.66 lakh
