The wait is over. Yes, you read that right. You can now finally buy the American compact SUV. Yes, we know you could book one by paying Rs 50,000 since the past few days but you now know the exact amount to be specified on the cheque that you need to sign to get the EcoSport.

And before we build up the climax, here goes, the Ford EcoSport with a 1.5-litre petrol engine starts at Rs 5.59 lakh. And if you wish to have an diesel motor under the hood of your EcoSport, you’d have to shell out Rs 6.69 lakh for the base version. And the much-talked-about EcoBoost, you ask? It’s pegged at Rs 7.90 lakh for the Titanium. Finally the 1.5 litre petrol Titanium automatic tranny is priced at Rs 8.45 lakh. All the prices mentioned are ex-showroom, Delhi.

The top-end EcoSport doesn’t disappoint when it comes to features. It gets music system with Bluetooth connectivity and USB and AUX in. In terms of safety, you have ABS and front airbags. And speaking of that, there’s also a SYNC system that dials 108 and alerts the ambulance service in case you crash. It also provides your longitude and latitude so that the ambulance can reach you at the earliest.

The EcoBoost engine with its 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine puts out 123bhp and 170Nm of torque. The naturally-aspirated 1.5-litre petrol engine is good for 110bhp and 140Nm of spin. And the diesel churns out 90bhp and 204Nm of torque.
