Launched: Mahindra TUV300 Plus
The rugged SUV gets extra power, more space and interior is designed by Pininfarina. Sounds interesting, right?
Mahindra has launched the stretched-out version of the TUV300, the TUV300 Plus. Available in three variants – P4, P6 and P8 – the TUV300 Plus has an introductory price tag of Rs 9.47 lakh (ex-showroom).
What’s different about the TUV300 Plus? Well, first of all, it is bigger. This stretched out SUV now measures 4400mm in length, 1835 mm in width and 1812 mm in height. This increment in its dimensions translates to more space on the inside, and allows it to seat nine.
The TUV300 Plus is powered by a bigger and powerful 2.2-litre mHAWK motor. The oil-burner produces 120bhp and 280Nm of grunt. That’s a bump of 20bhp and 40Nm from the standard engine. The motor is mated to a six-speed manual transmission and all the power is sent to the rear wheels. It also gets mild hybrid technology, Eco mode and brake regeneration for better performance figures.
On the inside, it comes equipped with steering mounted audio and phone controls, faux-leather seats, a driver seat height adjuster, armrests for the front row and a storage tray below the driver’s seat. The interior is designed by the Italian firm, Pininfarina, just like the TUV300’s was. Not too much is different but they have tried to make it more premium. Its equipment list also includes a seven-inch infotainment display, four speaker and Bluesense app.
In terms of safety, the TUV300 Plus gets dual-airbags, ABS with Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Intellipark Reverse Assist and rear defogger.
