Executive edition gets more features, a higher price tag and new badges. Nothing special though.

At a time when everyone is expecting Mahindra to introduce its much-awaited Verito-based compact sedan, it seems the carmaker is buying time with less significant launches like the Verito Executive edition.

Priced at Rs 7.75 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Executive edition is available only in Pearl White, and boasts features like leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, sat-nav and matching door inserts. On the outside it comes with alloy wheels, body decals, blue vision headlamps and Executive badges.

There aren’t any mechanical changes and it continues to be powered by 1.5-litre dCi diesel and 1.6-litre petrol motors. The sedan promises to keep its occupants safe with features like driver side airbag, ABS with EBD, engine immobiliser and crumple zones.

The company says with the Executive edition, it’s targeting corporate executives, professionals and businessmen. We doubt this is going to work though.

Mahindra, where’s that compact sedan?
