Atlast Mahindra powers the XUV 500 with a petrol mill

Ever felt disappointed that you were searching for petrol powered SUV from Mahindra's stable and you couldn't find one? Well you need not be disappointed as there is good news around the corner. Mahindra joins the petrol SUV category by launching the XUV 500 G AT.

Let’s pop the hood and look at what’s in store. Powering the XUV 500 G AT is an 2.2 litre mHawk petrol engine which produces 140 bhp of power and 320 Nm of torque. Well as the name suggests, this engine is coupled with a 6-speed automatic gearbox which also has creep function and manual mode options.

There aren't any cosmetic changes to the exteriors or interiors but the XUV 500 GT comes equipped with many modern features. Keeping safety in mind, Mahindra is offering Dual airbags, ABS equipped with EBD and ESP with rollover mitigation.

Just like the W9 variant which was launched in the month of OCT 2017, the G AT comes equipped with similar modern key features like 7” (18 Cm) Touchscreen Infotainment System, Android Auto, Emergency Call, Static Bending Headlamps, Push Button Start, Passive Keyless Entry and Tyre-tronics. In addition, to increase comfort for passengers and ease in driving for the driver, Mahindra has loaded the XUV 500 G AT with Fully automatic temperature control (FATC),Cruise Control, 8-way adjustable driver seat, Intelligent light sensing headlamps and Smart rain sensing wipers.

Now it all comes down to the cost- what price has been tagged for the XUV 500 G AT? This petrol powered SUV will cost you Rs 15.49 lacs (ex-showroom Delhi). Do let us know what you feel about the new petrol version of the XUV 500 in the comment section below.
