Launched: Range Rover 3.0 V6 diesel
Land Rover launches a new lighter, powerful yet efficient 3.0 TDV6 variant of the new Rangie
Following the launch of the powerful 4.4-litre V8 twin-turbo diesel and the supercharged 5.0-litre V8 petrol in November last year, Land Rover has roped in the more efficient 3.0-litre V6 diesel variant in India.
This is for the first time that the mighty Rangie is being offered with a smaller V6 diesel motor. The 2993cc twin-turbo V6 diesel is good for 255bhp and a healthy 600Nm of torque, and is coupled to a ZF-sourced 8-speed auto ’box, which is also available in the top-end variants. The company claims the new Rangie will do the 0-100kph drill in 7.9secs before hitting a top speed of 210kph.
The new Rangie comes with an all-aluminum monocoque construction that makes it considerably lighter than the outgoing model. The new 3.0 TDV6 variant tips the scales at 2160kg. JLR claims the combination of lighter chassis, frugal engine and 8-speed auto ’box results the new variant to return a combined fuel efficiency of 7.5kpl.
The 3.0 TDV6 engine variant will be available in two trim levels, HSE and Vogue, and are priced at Rs 1.44 crore and Rs 1.64 crore respectively (ex-showroom, Mumbai, pre-Octroi).
