So, just as we'd told you in our report yesterday, here's another engine swap for the VW Polo-Vento cousins. The Polo GT TDI borrowed the 1.6-litre diesel from the Vento and now, the sedan has taken the 1.2-litre TSI petrol from the GT-badged hatchback in exchange.

Named the Vento TSI, this new variant gets the same engine-gearbox combination as the Polo GT TSI, which means it makes 103bhp and 175Nm of torque. As many horses as the 1.6-litre petrol-engined Vento AT (which will still be on sale), but over 20 more torques, thanks to the turbocharging. The brilliant seven-speed DSG gearbox is present too, and VW says the TSI is more efficient than the 1.6 AT, returning a claimed 16.93kpl as opposed to the 1.6's 14.4kpl.

As with the Polo, the Vento TSI is only available in one trim, and it gets all the bells and whistles - automatic climate control, ABS, airbags, ESP, steering-mounted controls, a music system with Aux-in, USB and Bluetooth connectivity and 15-inch "Lakeside" alloy wheels come standard.

The Vento TSI has been priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it the most expensive Vento you can buy.
