After all the excitement provided by EICMA, here's some more: Mahindra is now offering a new base variant of the XUV500, labelled the 'W4'. It's cheaper, but it does not skimp on a lot of features.

It still gets projector headlamps with LEDs, dual airbags, ABS with EBD, twin-row aircon, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, remote locking, music system with four speakers and a six-way adjustable driver's seat as standard.

The mechanicals stay untouched, so you still get the same 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that makes 140bhp and 330Nm of torque, all channelled to a six-speed manual gearbox.

It's been priced at Rs 10.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), which is a little over a lakh less than the next variant, the W6.
