Mahindra rolls out limited-edition XUV500 'Sportz'

M&M adds a few red stickers and new wheels to a handful of XUV500s to come up with the zestfully-named 'Sportz'

Have a sudden craving to look at red things on a Thursday evening? Well, feast your eyes on Mahindra's latest spruced-up offering, the XUV500 Sportz.

Most of the newly-added trinkets have been finished in red – from the inserts on the special grey alloy wheels and the roof rails, to the fog lamp housings and the door handles. Even the Sportz-specific sticker job and badging features red predominantly.

Thankfully, the insides aren't quite as red. The seats are part-leather, part-fabric, and since it is based on the top-of-the-line W8 variant, you have the usual goodies like climate control, reversing camera, electric-folding mirrors, six airbags, satnav, DVD player, parking sensors and so on.

The Sportz suffix doesn't really do anything to the XUV's engine, though – it's still the same 2.2-litre, 140bhp diesel motor that powers all other XUVs.

Mahindra has priced the Sportz at Rs 13.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), and since production is limited to 1,000 units, you will have to hurry if you want to drive around in a Mahindra designed to look like a cheetah with red things on it.
