It’s a known fact that our homegrown small-car specialist, Maruti Suzuki, hasn’t had the best of runs when it comes to selling big cars. The SX4 has been one of those cars that haven’t really got its due credit owing to a stiff competition from its more modern rivals. But Maruti isn’t ready to give up on its sedan just yet. While the next-gen SX4 is still far away from reaching our shores, what the carmaker has to offer is a refreshed SX4 with few cosmetic updates.

The 2013 SX4 looks a tad bit sharper with a bigger chrome grille and an updated bumper upfront. The new dual-tone black and beige interior shade lends the cabin a fresh feel to it and the door pads now get a touch of wood with cubic printing on them. The top-end ZXi and ZDi variants also come with fully integrated touchscreen audio system with Aux-in and USB connectivity, and navigation as an optional feature.

There are no major mechanical changes in the new SX4 and it continues to be powered by 1.3-litre 89bhp diesel, 1.6-litre 104bhp petrol and a CNG option as well. Maruti claims the fuel efficiency figures of the new SX4 has gone up, with the diesel returning 21.79kpl, petrol running a healthy 16.51km per litre and 22.1km per kilo of gas.

Prices of the refreshed SX4 remain unchanged. So the petrol variants are priced between Rs 7.38 – Rs 8.84 lakh while the diesel range is available from Rs 8.27 – Rs 9.79 lakh (prices ex-showroom, Delhi).
