Maruti recalls over one lakh vehicles for faulty fuel filler neck

Swift, DZire and Ertiga included in the list of affected vehicles...

This week marked rough times for Toyota as the Japanese car manufacturer recalled of 63.9 lakh vehicles across the globe. A similar crisis hit Indian manufacturer Maruti Suzuki as the company recalled 1.03 lakh vehicles manufactured from November 12, 2013 to February 04, 2014 for faulty fuel filler neck. Th list of cars affected by this are Swift, DZire and also the Ertiga.

The company reports that there is a possibility of fuel smell, and in extreme conditions, there may be some fuel leakage in affected vehicles if they are filled up to the fuel cap, beyond the 'auto cutoff level'. The company stated that the dealers would contact owners of the affected vehicles, and the company would replace the fuel filler neck free of cost.
