In a very hush-hush move from Maruti Suzuki, the Ritz hatchback has been revived with an automatic petrol variant without an official launch event. The only indication of this launch is that Maruti has updated its website with the Ritz AT price, which is available only in the VXi trim at Rs 6.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Powered by the 1.2-litre K-series motor, the Ritz AT comes equipped with a 4-speed ’box that is currently doing duty in the Swift Dzire AT. Company claims the AT variant will return a combined fuel efficiency figure of 17.16kpl as compared to 18.5kpl of the manual variant.

The Ritz AT VXi will sport features like ABS and EBD as standard (its optional for manual VXi variant), front and rear fog lamps, multi-information display, dual tone interiors, fabric inserts on door trim, tachometer, adjustable steering wheel and a rear spoiler. However, like in the manual variant, airbags are missing the AT as well.

The Ritz AT can be booked with a booking amount of Rs 10,000, with deliveries starting later this month. The Ritz AT will compete with Honda Brio (5-speed AT) and Hyundai i10 (4-speed AT).
