Mercedes kept 2013 interesting with its numerous launches, and it doesn't look like they're planning on slowing down anytime soon. After launching the new S-Class just a few weeks back, Mercedes has today launched a special edition C-Class, dubbed the Grand Edition.

But before we get to what makes this C-Class so grand, it would be apt to mention that the reason for celebration is Mercedes' 50,000th car roll-out in India. No prizes for guessing that the 50,000th car was the C-Class Grand Edition, pictured above in their Chakan plant.

So, the Grand Edition comes with AMG body styling, which includes front and rear apron, side sill panels and 17-inch light alloy wheels with black AMG hub caps. There's also the Grand Edition badge on the wings with chromed tailpipe trims. The inside gets a bit of a brushed metal finish, with addition of features like panoramic sunroof, a 4.5-inch display in the instrument cluster with satnav. Before you ask, the Grand Edition remains mechanically unchanged.

The Mercedes C-Class Grand Edition is priced at Rs 39.16 lakh for the C220 CDI (diesel), and Rs 36.81 lakh for the C200 petrol variant respectively. All prices are ex-Showroom Mumbai.

A pretty grand gesture by Mercedes right before the Auto Expo, don't you agree TopGearheads? Here's our review of the C-Class diesel, in case you were curious.
