The view of the three-pointed star on the bonnet from the driver's seat is a special sight indeed. It's an experience that comes at a fairly hefty price, which is about to climb further.

From September 1 onwards, Mercedes-Benz India will raise prices across the range. Increasing input costs and a stubbornly-high exchange rate have been eating into Mercedes' profits, and so the hike.

By how much? Depending on the model you're buying, the hike can, says Mercedes, go "up to 2.5 per cent". Prices will only be available in a few days' time, but it's safe to assume that the more expensive vehicles in the Mercedes stable will get dearer still.
