New Merc S-Class first exterior shot leaks
First exterior shot of Mercedes' flagship has surfaced online days before its official unveil
The World Wide Web is a wonderful place. Over the last few days it has given us a Gulf-liveried LaFerrari (unreal, literally), news of a certain Mr.Rossi trying out yet another form of motorsport, and footage of a battery-powered buggy that carries enough juice to power a house for days on end. Now, merely a week before the global unveiling of the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class, the very first exterior image of what Merc proclaims will be "The best car in the world" has leaked out.
As is apparent, the new-gen S retains the previous model's elegant silhouette, but looks tauter, featuring LED-encrusted headlamps, sharper front air intakes and a massive front grille that would scare the living jeepers out of anyone who's driving up ahead.
Other details are sketchy, but it goes without saying that MB would pack the new S with a range of V12s and V8s, along with a V6 diesel for the ones who are fond of oil-burners. With the plug being pulled on Maybach, expect a no-holds-barred Pullman version of the new S, something that will help Mercedes-Benz compete with the likes of Rolls-Royce and Bentley. The interior, crammed with the latest in four-wheeled luxury (including a selection of perfumes to make sure you don't step out for a meeting with smelly armpits), has already been shown to the world in all its leather-lined glory, just in case you didn't know.
We will have more images of the new S-Class on May 15, but till then, do you like the S-Class's new-found aggression? Talk to us in the comments below.
