Here is some good news to cheer you up on a lazy Monday. Mitsubishi has decided to clip Rs 1.87 lakh off its Pajero Sport SUV. It will now cost Rs 22.56 lakh, down from the earlier price of Rs 24.43 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

This price reduction has come in after Hindustan Motors started CKD assembly of the model at its Tiruvallur plant in Chennai.

According to Mitsubishi, components including tyres, battery, window glass, seat belts, lamps, wiper assembly, alloy wheels and headlining are the major items, which are being localised at its Tiruvallur plant. The current local content is around 14 percent and will be bumped up to 30 percent in the coming months, and could translate into another round of price cuts.

Looks like Mitsubishi has the recently launched SsangYong Rexton in its sights with this price cut. What say TopGear.commers?
