Nissan brings in refreshed Micra

New looks, more features, automatic gearbox option and a 'sportier' Active variant

Nissan is ready with a fresh onslaught in the small car market. While it's to-be-launched sister brand Datsun will be unveiled next week, Nissan has revamped the Micra with a new-look, more contemporary interiors and the option of an automatic gearbox for its petrol variant.

Mechanically not much has changed. The car will still come powered by either the 1.2L petrol delivering 75bhp or the tried and tested 1.5L diesel with 63bhp and 160Nm of torque.

New Micra will be available in four standard variants of XL, XL Option, XV and XV Premium (only in Diesel). The Micra Xtronic CVT will only be available in the XV variant. New Nissan Micra will be introduced in a range of six colours: Olive Green (new), Turquoise Blue (new), Blade Silver, Storm White, Onyx Black and Brick Red. The cheaper Micra Active will be available in petrol only in XL and XV trims. The car will come with a 2 year/50,000km warranty.

Prices for the New Micra Diesel:

XL - Rs 5.99 lakh
XL(O) - Rs 6.43 lakh
XV - Rs 6.9 lakh
XVP - Rs 7.14 lakh

Prices for the New Micra Petrol:
XL - Rs 4.8 lakh
XV - Rs 5.43 lakh
CVT - Rs 6.4 lakh

Prices for Micra Active (pic below):

XE - Rs 3.5 lakh
XL - Rs 4.0 lakh
XV - Rs 4.4 lakh
XV Safety - Rs 4.7 lakh
