Skoda India has announced that Zac Hollis will be the new director of sales and marketing in the country. Currently, Hollis is leading Skoda’s sales department in China. He will take charge of this new role from November 1, 2018 and will report to Gurpratap Boparai, the managing director of Skoda India.

Hollis will be replacing Ashutosh Dixit, who has spent over 11 years at Skoda India. “I would like to thank Ashutosh Dixit for spearheading the premium positioning of the Skoda brand in India together with modernisation of the dealer network through the new CICD implementation,” said Gurpratap Boparai, managing director, Skoda India.

Few months ago, Volkswagen had announced that Skoda will be responsible to lead its India 2.0 project for the German manufacturer. The project will involve setting up a new engineering centre in India that will manufacture not just cars for India but also for exports. With the India 2.0 project, Skoda will be responsible to bring the MQB-AO-IN platform in India. And oh, with this new platform, Skoda is planning to launch two new cars based on this platform along with its parent company, Volkswagen. And kick-starting things will be an SUV which will be based on the MQB-AO-IN platform.

In other news, Skoda is all set to unveil the Kodiaq vRS. The Kodiaq is currently the fastest seven-seater SUV to lap the Nurburgring and it will be showcased to the world at the upcoming Geneva motor show along with a new five-door hot hatch, the Vision RS.
