The festive season has just commenced. Volkswagen, Skoda's sister company has already gone ahead and launched mildly updated versions of the Polo and Vento, and logically, Skoda shouldn't stay too far behind.

So, in order to offer customers even more choice, Skoda has decided to offer the "Plus package" for the Active and Ambition trims. Which means there is now a total of 5 Rapid variants to choose from.

In addition to the features offered on the existing Active and Ambition variants, the Plus package brings useful add-ons - features like electrically-adjustable ORVMs and a folding remote locking key with remote opening and closing of windows are common to both Active and Ambition Plus trims, while the Ambition Plus carries a security code-enabled MP3 player with Aux-in and SD/MMC card reader, one-touch power windows and a sprinkling of chrome on the dashboard, features which aren't available on the Active Plus.

No word on how much more do the Plus package-equipped versions cost compared to the usual Active and Ambition variants, but even with a marginal price hike, the Rapid should still comfortably undercut its refreshed cousin, the Vento. Is that a "plus" in your books, TopGear.commers?
