In a marketing move to create much-needed buzz, especially against the recently-launched Honda Amaze, Maruti has announced a special edition of the Swift DZire, dubbed as Swift DZire Regal.

The car will get special body stickers on the outside along with the Regal moniker. The new trim will only be available on the VXi petrol, and comes with updates to its interiors and exteriors. There is also a special blue colour limited to this edition only. The car will cost Rs 5.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai). To put it in perspective, you can get the regular VXi for Rs 5.80 lakh, while the ZXi version costs Rs 6.73 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Mumbai).

Talking of other useful extras, you get parking sensors, fog lamps as well as an integrated stereo (found on the ZXi) and faux leather seat covers among other things.

Call it the Amaze effect, or whatever you may, but we hope Maruti doles out many more such versions which offer value to the buyer. Do you agree, TopGear.commers?
