Just as this year is coming to an end, automakers are on a quest to surprise their buyers with sudden increase in the price of their products. Many manufacturers have done it in the past few months. Latest member to join this league is Tata motors.

Tata motors recently announced that they will increase the prices of their entire product range by up to Rs 25,000. This decision was made due to rising input cost: in layman's term this means the cost of items such as labour and material used in the production of goods or services will affect the cost of the product.

“The changing market conditions, rising input costs and various external economic factors have compelled us to consider the price increase” says Mr. Mayank Pareek, President, Passenger Vehicle Business, Tata Motors.

Tata motors have seen a spectacular growth when it comes to market share. After an overwhelming response given to their newly launched vehicles- Hexa, Tigor and nexon- Tata is now the third largest carmaker in India. Not only Tata has seen such a growth domestically, in fact it's British arm, JLR, has also seen a growth of 10% in November.

These prices will come into effect from January, 2018, while the initial price of Nexon will come to an end by 31st December. Tata is not the first one to hike the prices of its cars this year, Toyota, Honda and Isuzu had also increased the prices of their products. Want to know which car is worth this price hike?
