Nissan is all set to bring its compact SUV, Kicks, to India by the end of this year. And before you start comparing it with any other Nissan out there, we would like to inform you that this is an all-new car. The Japanese carmaker had first showcased the compact SUV back in 2016 in Brazil. When Nissan realised our love towards the compact SUV segment, it thought of bringing the newest SUV it had in its inventory.

In terms of creature comforts, the Nissan Kicks is equipped with climate control, heated front seats, a 7-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, steering mounted volume controls and Bluetooth connectivity. And oh, the international variant is also equipped with Bose surround sound system. So, if anyone from Nissan is reading this, don’t skip that option for us!

Internationally, the Kicks is powered by a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder motor that puts out 125bhp and 155Nm of torque. But, we are likely to get Nissan’s tried and tested 1.5-litre oil-burner and the 1.6-litre petrol motor. While the diesel motor is capable of churning out 108bhp and 245Nm of pulling power, the petrol motor produces 103bhp and 148Nm of torque.

The Nissan Kicks is pretty loaded when it comes to features. It is equipped with seat-mounted side-impact airbags at the front, roof-mounted airbags, VDC, traction control, front seat belts with pre-tensioners and load limiters, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection and rear cross traffic alert.

When it comes, that is by the end of this year, the Nissan Kicks will rival the segment leader, Hyundai Creta.
