Cougar Motorsports, in association with TopGear India, bring to you "The Himalayan Dash 2012" - a one-of-a-kind, distinct experience which involves driving all the way up to the highest motorable road on the planet, all by yourself! Kicking off on the 7th of July, 2012, the expedition lasts eleven days, ending on July 17, 2012.

The Himalayan Dash is an annual event, which also happens to be ranked first amongst the top ten drives in the country, with global appeal to go with it. The route, which stretches over 2,000kms across 5 states, takes its participants to some of the highest motoring passes in the world, whilst bisecting vast stretches of the ice-cold desert and negotiating the perilous gorges of the Chandra, Indus and Beas rivers.

The journey begins on the 7th of July from Delhi with a pre-event launch party, and after going through places like Shimla, Leh, Jispa, Sarchu, Nubra, Pangong, Mulbeg and Manali, finally culminates with a gala post-event party & dinner at Srinagar on the 17th of July. Over-night halt destinations include some of the best, most luxurious lodging available en-route such as The Wildflower Hall Shimla, Banon Resorts Manali, Swiss tents, Lha-Ri-Sa Leh and The Lalit Grand Palace Srinagar.

Full medical and service back-up will be at hand all throughout the journey, along with fuel planning, permits and local guidance too. The expedition will be accompanied by doctors trained in high-altitude medicines, with all participants entitled to Personal Accident Insurance.

With activities like para-sailing, monastery visits, bon-fires, camel safari and wine tasting (!) organized daily for the participants' entertainment, rest assured, there never will be a dull moment on the trip.
