Unveiled: Tata Nexon AMT
The Nexon AMT gets three drive modes and a new eye-catchy paint job
Expanding its product portfolio, Tata has revealed the AMT variant of its compact SUV – Nexon. The AMT is available on both drivetrain options, the petrol and the diesel.
What else is new in these AMT variants apart from the gearbox? Well, not much. Other than the new orange paint option, the exterior features remain the same. It still gets a dual-tone paint job, projector headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels and a reverse camera.
The engines remain the same as the manual variant. There are two engine options available – a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol which puts out 108bhp and 170Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre oil-burner which makes the same power output as the petrol one but you have 260Nm of torque at your disposal. The compact SUV is also equipped with three drive modes – eco, city and sport – a manual tip-tronic mode, hill assist and creep function – this function helps the car move during traffic without pressing the accelerator.
In terms of features, the Nexon AMT is equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system, Harman stereo with eight speakers, driver's seat height adjust, among other things.
The Nexon rivals the Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Ford EcoSport, but the Nexon has one really cool trick up its sleeves. It gets a smart key, which you can wear it as a wristband. How cool is that!
