When someone says ‘Volvo’ immediately the next word which comes to your mind is safety. Volvo engineers have spent years making their car safe for their customers and their XC60 is surely one of the safest in town. In fact, the XC60 has won the Euro NCAP 2017 best in class safety award.

In 2015, the chaps at the Euro NCAP crowned the XC90 as the best performing off-roader for its safety standards. The XC60 scored 98 percent in adult occupant category, 87 percent in child occupant category, 76 percent in pedestrian safety and 95 percent in safety assist.

“The achievements of the XC60 are examples of our commitment to developing the latest safety and support system, as we strive towards that vision.” said Malin Ekholm, Vice President, and Volvo Cars Safety Centre. He also says that by the year 2020, no one should be killed or get injured in a Volvo.

Powered by a twin-turbo diesel, it produces 232bhp and 480Nm of torque. Now for all the bells and whistles for which Volvo is best known for; seven airbags, ABS, park assist, pilot assist, lane keeping aid, blind spot assist, 360-degree camera, City Safe function.

Let’s see whether the recently launched XC40 will be able to match the scores of its elder siblings or not.
