Maruti Suzuki has flagged off one of the biggest TSD (time-speed-distance) rallies this year – the Dakshin Dare 2014 – on the August 4. This year, the rally involves a total of 95 participating vehicles from the three categories (ultimate car, ultimate bike and Endurance) traverse across over 2,000km around some of South India’s most scenic locations like Mysore, Shimoga, Bellary, Hospet, Hubli, etc., to conclude in Goa.

Maruti Suzuki has been organizing some of the country’s toughest motorsport rallies such as Raid-de-Himalaya (North India) and Desert Storm (West India). Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare is therefore designed to bring the joy of motorsports for people in southern India.

This year, driver Suresh Rana – nine times winner of Raid de Himalaya and three times winner of Desert Storm in Extreme Category – has set his sights on his first Dakshin Dare title this year. Besides home teams from Bangalore such as Satish Goplakrishnan and Savera Dsouza in Endure Category – leading the 2014 INTSD Rally Championship – the Maruti Suzuki Dakshin Dare 2014 sees participation from regions like Nashik, Manali, Chandigarh, Hyderabad, Mysore, Kerala, Kolkata etc.
