Video: Sauber bisect an F1 racer

How F1 carmakers diffuse so much technology over so little weight is something of a mystery to us. So it’s a jolly good job that Sauber F1 stepped into the breach and sliced an F1 car right down the middle, then got chief designer, Matt Morris to explain how it’s crammed in.

And it’s absolutely extraordinary. It took Sauber two years to build the bisected racer, and it gives an excellent insight into just how terrifyingly unpleasant it is drive one of these things.
