Apple's press con last night didn't have the iPad-mini that was highly speculated by everyone, but they did show off the new iPhone and the new iPod range to keep the Apple fans giggly. In case you missed the action, here's a catch-up on the new iPhone 5

The iPhone 5 is the thinnest and lightest iPhone ever and is completely redesigned to feature a new 4-inch Retina display, that appears a bit longer than the previous generation. The increase in length should be great for watching movies and videos, which are shot for widescreen format anyways. The phone is powered by an Apple-designed A6 chip that promises twice the performance of 4S while delivering even better battery life.

iPhone 5 naturally comes with iOS 6, which boasts over 200 new features including: the new Maps app with Apple-designed cartography and turn-by-turn navigation, Facebook integration, Passbook organization, and even more Siri features and languages. The camera is still 8 megapixels as in the 4S, though it's a bit thinner in this one. And yes the front VGA camera has finally been replaced by a 1.2 megapixel camera that will finally be usable for more than just Skype or Facetime.

No news yet on when the phone will be arriving in India officially, but yes, you can go ahead and get your uncle/cousin/BFF to get it down for you when it launches on September 21st in US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and the UK.
