Launched: Vivo V11 Pro
The phone sits above the V9 and gets a lot of features only seen on its flagships
Vivo announced the launch of its new phone, the V11 Pro, priced at Rs 25,990. The V11 Pro sits above the immensely popular V9 that was launched earlier this year, and improves on the V9 in various departments.
One of the big features on the V11 Pro is the addition of an in-display fingerprint scanner. This allows for a larger display and removes the need for a scanner on the back. It also gets something called Halo FullView display, which means the notch has been reduced to an absolute minimum and the screen takes up most of the space on the front. The screen itself is 16.28cm and gets a Super AMOLED display, and with the thin 1.76mm bezels, it gets a 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
The camera has got a number of improvements over the V9 as well. For starters, it features a dual 12MP + 5MP rear camera with a f/1.8 aperture and a 25MP front camera as well. The software has been upgraded to allow for better photographs as well — an AI backlit HDR mode keeps allows for the best exposure on backlit subjects, and it also gets an AI lowlight mode. Both use AI algorithms to capture multiple frames and combine them for well-lit images. There’s also an AI scene recognition which automatically recognises the subject — whether it is food, sceneries, portraits etc — and enhances them accordingly. AI face shaping and AI Selfie lighting enhance selfies while AI Portrait framing prompts you on how to frame the photo better.
The Vivo V11 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 660AIE processor combined with 6BG of RAM and 64GB of storage. It also comes loaded with Funtouch OS 4.5 based on Android 8.1.
The V9 really catapulted Vivo by claiming a majority of the market share in the Rs 20-25,000 smartphone range, and it hopes the V11 Pro does the same. The phones will be manufactured in India, at Vivo’s factory in Greater Noida.
