In a bid to negate the slide in its petrol powered hatchback sales, Maruti has quietly launched a limited edition version of its Wagon R, unimaginatively dubbed the Wagon R Pro.

This will be a value offering for buyers and will feature a number of extra accessories including a Maruti USB-enabled double-din stereo system with speakers, a rear spoiler, body graphics and seat covers, among other things. The installation of these accessories will be carried out at Maruti dealerships.

The Pro costs Rs 20,000 more than the standard variants of the hatch, but it's justified, since the same accessories, when purchased separately at accessory dealers will cost you around Rs 30,000.

The top-end Wagon R VXi version with ABS costs Rs 4.38 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Add another Rs 20,000 for the Pro version for all the bells and whistles. The company is currently offering a discount on the car to the tune of Rs 30,000, which according to dealers will also be extended on the Pro versions.

Sounds like a good deal TopGear.commers? Let us know in the comments below.
