Thought INRC was ruled only by teams from Bangalore and Chennai? Well, here’s something that’ll make every Pune-ite proud. Pune-based Pinnacle motorsport, division of Pinnacle group, has launched its four-car team INRC team calling it team Slideways Industries.

The car for the job is a Volkswagen Polo. The Polo has been around the Indian motorsport circle for a while now with the Polo R cup, but it’s the first time it’ll be rallied. Under its hood, it has a regular 1.6-litre petrol engine that makes 104bhp but has been tuned by the Bangalore-based team, Race Dynamics. You can expect it to belt out about 20bhp more with the tuning. What’s also different on this Polo, is the new rally-specced 3-way adjustable suspension, a roll cage, seats, belts and an electrical cut-off system among other things.

The guys behind the wheels are Sirish Chandran, Rohan Pawar, Byram Godrej and Aniruddha Rangnekar. The boys currently drive Maruti Esteems and Balenos in INRC, but will shift to their new car in Round 2.

In case you want to keep up with the INRC events, here are the dates:

September 21- 23 in Bangalore
October 19 - 21in Mysore
November 16 - 18 in Chickmagalur
December 21 - 23 in Nashik
