Fiat announces over 100 exclusive showrooms by year end

We could not remember if it was the 3rd or 4th time that Fiat has decide to start afresh in India, but we do wish it works for them this time

Fiat India is trying its luck once again in the booming Indian auto market. To refresh your memory, the Italian auto maker has ended its inning with Tata motors after a six-year partnership of jointly selling Fiat and Tata branded cars under one roof.

This time around, Fiat will walk the mile alone and for that the Italian carmaker has opened 51 exclusive dealerships around India since the beginning of this year. Fiat plans to more than double this number by the end of this financial year.

These dealerships will primarily focus on better sales and after-sales experience for the new and existing Fiat customers. As we had reported earlier, Fiat’s refreshed lineup of  Punto and Linea is still a few months away, but this could all be in preparation of the new launch.

As a confidence building initiative among new buyers, Fiat has rolled out a 3 year/1,00,000km-warranty program that customers can increase by an additional 2 years. That gives the owner a total of 5 years/1,50,000-warranty. Along with this, Fiat will also provide mobile roadside assistance that can be called on by a 24/7 helpline.

Though this announcement does not sound like much, we get a hint that Fiat is preparing for a product onslaught in India with a host of new products in the next two years. Don't you think TopGearheads? Tell us in the comments below.
