Honda's Dream Neo arrives
The latest 110cc bike is the most affordable in Honda's India portfolio yet
Honda seems to be going for its ex-partner Hero's jugular. The Japanese giant has launched an all-new 110cc bike called the Dream Neo at a price of Rs 43,150 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the base version of the bike making it the most affordable Honda bike on sale in India. This makes the Neo three thousand cheaper than the base Dream Yuga retailing at Rs 46,607 (ex-Delhi).
Honda claims this engine delivers 74kpl under test conditions
Honda is offering the bike in three flavours - apart from the base version which gets only kick-start and spoke wheels, the next-in-line version gets alloy wheels as an extra feature and costs Rs 44,150 while the top version gets electric-start along with alloy wheels and costs Rs 47,240 (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). No version gets front disc brakes, a clear attempt at keeping the Neo's price in check.
The Dream Neo is powered by a 109cc engine that develops 8.25bhp of power transferred via a 4-speed gearbox. Honda claims this engine delivers 74kpl under test conditions. Among other useful features, the bike gets tubeless tyres on the top two versions. Deliveries for the bike will start in the first week of May.
Honda claims that it is working on full capacity at its plants in India and will clear the backlog of its scooters soon. Looks like the good times are here for Honda in India.
