Launched: Mahindra Verito Vibe
Mahindra gives the Indian youth an affordable yet powerful hatch...
A 1.5-litre diesel engine-equipped spacious hatchback that's also affordable? Trust Mahindra to fulfill the Indian dream. Taking the boot off their Verito sedan may just be the best thing Mahindra's done with the car.
Available only in diesel, the Verito Vibe comes in three variants - D2, D4 and D6, priced at Rs 5.63 lakh, Rs 5.89 lakh and Rs 6.49 lakh respectively (all prices, ex-showroom, Mumbai). All three variants boast of the same 1.5-litre dCi CRDi diesel engine and differ mainly in features and fittings.
Mahindra's biggest USP for the Verito Vibe seems to be the incredible space it offers. The Vibe offers generous legroom for all 5 passengers, and 330 litres of boot space.
Besides the space, the Verito Vibe comes with a 2-DIN audio system, electric ORVMs, ABS with EBD, driver-side airbag, and a quadra-tone dash on the inside. On the outside, Vibe gets champagne-coloured alloys, side impact beams, carbon-finished front grille, sporty muffler and ski-racks. The Verito Vibe returns a claimed mileage of 20.8kpl, but we'll have an accurate number once we get our hands on it.
Mahindra is targeting the youth with the Verito Vibe. Do you think they've struck the right chord with the Indian youth? Let us know in the comments below.
