As we reported last December, Nissan Sunny has finally been unveiled in India. Seen first at the 8th China International Auto Exhibition, the 10th generation Nissan Sunny is based on the V (versatile) platform, the one used in Micra.

Today's event was more of an unveiling rather than an actual launch so the details were a bit scarce. All we know is that the 1.5 litre petrol version will be the first to hit the Indian market in the coming months. Though Nissan had no official word on it, there is a possibility that they may look at a diesel model as a future variant as well, as they did with their small-hatch, Micra.

Nissan was tight-lipped about the price of the car, but they did tease that it will be competitively priced in the mid-sized sedan segment.

We suspect that the car should be out in time for Diwali this year, if they want to cash in on the boom during that period. Do you agree?
