Audi today announced the launch of its executive class sedan, the new Audi A6 in India.

Successor to one of the world’s most successful executive sedans, the new Audi A6 features groundbreaking solutions in every area of technology. The body is built light, owing to a significant proportion of aluminum components. The range of assistance and multimedia systems is extensive, and operation is intuitive and user friendly.

Audi is launching the new A6 with a choice of four powerful, highly efficient four and six-cylinder power plants. The two Petrol engines and two TDI units produce outputs between 130 kW (177 hp) to 220 kW (300 hp). All of these engines make use of technologies from the brand’s modular efficiency platform – the innovative thermal management concept, the start-stop system (petrol), and the energy recovery system.

The 3.0 TFSI V6 petrol engine produces 220 kW (300 hp) and has a displacement of 2,995 cc while the 2.8 FSI V6 produces 150 kW (204 hp) with a displacement of 2,773 cc.

The 3.0 TDI V6 diesel engine generates 180 kW (245 hp) and has a displacement of 2,967cc, while the 2.0 TDI In-line 4 cylinder generates 130 kW (177 hp) with a displacement of 1,968 cc.

The A6 business luxury limousine is priced at INR 37,70,000 for the 2.0 TDI, INR 39,90,000 for the 2.8 FSI, INR 46,95,000 for the 3.0 TDI q and INR 47,00,000 for the 3.0 TFSI (ex-showroom Delhi) and will be available at Audi dealerships from August 2011.
