Tata Nano gets tweaked
With more features, new interiors and more colour options at the same price
Tata Motors have announced a bucketload of new features for their entry-level superstar, the Nano.
The first of the new features is the car's tweaked 624cc engine, which has been made more powerful delivering 38PS of power (over the previous 35 PS) and 51Nm of torque (previous torque, 48Nm). Even the fuel efficiency has been boosted to a new high of 25.4 kpl over the previous version's 23.6 kpl (ARAI figures).
Then there's the revised suspension set-up, including an anti-roll bar at the front, and an easier steering mechanism. Booster-assisted brakes, already available in the Nano CX and the LX, have now been added to the Nano Standard as well.
The interiors too are completely new with beige in the Nano LX, black in the Nano CX and medium graphite in the Standard version. Finally, the Nano is available in 10 colour options (eight of them new) - Pearl White, Rouge Red, Aqua Blue, Neon Rush, Serene White, Meteor Silver, Mojito Green, Papaya Orange, Sunshine Yellow, and Champagne Gold.
The good part is that the Nano wil continue to sell at the same price of Rs 1.4 lakh for the Nano Standard, Rs 1.7 lakh for the Nano CX and Rs 1.96 lakh for the Nano LX, ex-showroom Delhi.
