KTM is finally here! And what shocks us most is the mouth-watering price it comes at. Bajaj has priced the KTM Duke 200 at Rs 1.17 lakh ex-showroom Delhi. This aggressive pricing slots the Duke right in between the Yamaha YZF R15 2.0 and the Honda CBR 250R.

Speaking of technical details, the duke has a single cylinder, 200cc, liquid cooled, DOHC, four valve engine which will pump out a peak power of 25bhp and a maximum torque of 19 Nm. Which gives this bike a better power to weight ratio than the R15 and CBR 250.

If you are wondering how serious is this Austrian brand about India plan? Here are a few details, Bajaj will be rebranding all their Pro-Biking to KTM showrooms. The showroom will have a range of Accessories and Merchandise called KTM PowerWear and KTM PowerParts. KTM is also planning on launching a new bike every year, with the KTM Duke 350 following the Duke 200 next year.

Obviously the Duke 200 does not have any direct competition for now, till Yamaha launches the Fazer 200 the Duke will be grabbing market share from the R15 and CBR 250.

There has been no word if there will be CBU import from litre class and other high capacity engines range, but we suggest that KTM will soon be bringing its higher capacity bike once the dealership is up and running.
