Ducati unveils Multistrada 950 and 950 S

If you are a Ducati fanatic, then this year’s EICMA maybe the holy place for you. Why? We hear you ask. Well, the Italian bike maker has shown a myriad of motorcycles. While some have received an update, a few models have received a new variant and some of them are all-new motorcycles. After making us drool over the Panigale V4 R, Ducati has unveiled the 2019 Multistrada 950. And just like its bigger cousins, the baby Multi now gets an S variant as well.

Mechanically it remains the same as the previous model. The 937cc motor produces 111bhp at 9,000rpm and 96Nm at 7,750rpm and is mated to a six-speed gearbox. The most significant update that the Multistrada 950 has received is this: a six-axis Bosch inertial measurement unit. The IMU allows the bike to have three-level cornering ABS.

The 2019 Multistrada 950 gets vehicle hold control, hydraulic clutch and auto-off turn signals. Along with these features, the S gets some additional features such as electronic Ducati skyhook suspension, a quickshifter, cruise control, a five-inch colour TFT display, full LED headlights and backlit switchgear controls.

Both the models are equipped with the same brake setup – dual 320mm discs up front and a 265mm disc at the rear. Although this may the baby Multistrada, in terms of safety kit, it is almost at par with its bigger cousin. It gets ABS, traction control and four riding modes (Sport, Touring, Urban and Enduro).
