Engine details of the upcoming Jawa motorcycle revealed

Read more on:

If you are a fan of neo-retro motorcycles, then we have good news for you. Back in 2016, Mahindra had announced that it is going to resurrect the Jawa brand through its subsidiary, Classic Legends. The company signed a licensing deal to launch Jawa motorcycles in India and other East Asian countries. And after waiting for quite some time, we have finally received some information about the upcoming Jawa motorcycle.

The company has announced that the upcoming motorcycle will be powered by an all-new 293cc, engine. The single-cylinder, four-stroke motor is capable of producing 27bhp and 28Nm of torque. The petrol-unit is BS VI compliant and has a fuel injection system. We are told that the new engine will have ‘a generous mid-range and a flat torque curve’.

There will be an all-new line-up for Jawa, developed from the ground up, and the bikes will be produced at Mahindra's facility in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh. We know that Mahindra’s two-wheeler arm has been struggling to clock good numbers. On one hand, the Mojo got a lukewarm response from customers and on the other hand, the Centuro is eaten up by the other 110cc motorcycles.
