Jaguar F-Pace now made in India

In 2016, Jaguar entered the SUV fight with its F-Pace. It locked horns with the likes of BMW X3, Audi Q5, Mercedes GLE and Porsche Macan. But now Jaguar is back with a new master plan. The manufacturer has learned to lure Indian customers with one simple trick – a massive revision in pricing.

Jaguar has decided to locally manufacture its F-Pace from the start of next year. For Jaguar enthusiasts this should prove beneficial. The locally manufactured F-Pace is priced at Rs 60.02 lakh (ex-showroom, India)

During its launch, Rohit Suri, Managing Director & President, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd, said: “Since its launch in October last year, Jaguar F-Pace has captured hearts and minds of Jaguar fans as well as its distinguished & discerning customers spread across India. The launch of the locally manufactured F-PACE signifies another milestone in our continued commitment and efforts towards ‘Make in India’ policy of the Government of India.”

Labelled the first performance SUV by the manufacturer, the F-Pace is driven by a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged, diesel engine producing 177 bhp and a maximum torque of 430 Nm. This is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. With this amount of power and torque, this 2.6 ton SUV takes only 8.7 s to reach 100kph from a standstill and will go all the way up to 208kph.

When it comes to interior and comfort, the F-Pace has some cool features like rear reclining seats, 380 W meridian sound system, configurable interior mood lighting with 10 colours, four-zone climate control, 10.2-inch touch screen, Wi-Fi hotspot & pro services and a wearable activity band. Bookings for the F-Pace are open and deliveries will commence from the end of November 2017.
