Lamborghini to unveil Urus on 11th January in India
Under the hood, sits a big 4.0-litre Biturbo V8 which is sourced from its German cousin, Audi Q7. The V8 produces 650bhp and 850Nm of torque, when you mate this amount of power to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, you get a 2.1 ton beast.
Now, what it takes to be a true Lamborghini? Mind blowing speed? And a ridiculous time to finish the 0-100kph sprint? Well, yes, yes and yes. With a top speed of 298kph it can do the sprint to 100kph in 3.7s. With that sort of numbers it is now, officially the fastest SUV in the world. While we are on the subject of making records, the Lamborghini Urus is equipped with largest carbon ceramic brakes-440mm at the front and 370mm at the rear-ever fitted to a road-legal car to make sure it is super quick to stop as well.
The Urus shares the same MLB platform as used in the Porsche Cayenne, Audi Q7 and Bentley Bentayga. With five seats and 616 litres of boot space, this can be your everyday car-if you want to wake up your neighbours while you run errands.
When you enter the car, you'll be welcomed by Aventador style start/stop button and two huge screens-three if you count the instrument cluster. The interior can be customised with five finishes: leather, alcantara, aluminium, wood finish and carbon. The Urus is equipped with four wheel steering and a four-wheel-drive system with active rear torque vectoring, adaptive air suspension with active dampers. It also packs in active torque vectoring and five different drive modes – Neve, Terra, Corsa, Sabia and Sport.
Although it boasts of amazing performance, you may miss the glorious noise of a V12. May be in a future Performante or SV version of their Super SUV?
