At this year’s Geneva Motor Show, Skoda had shown us a hybrid hot hatch called Vision RS and the go-faster version of the Kodiaq. Although the vRS was the talk of the town during the motor show, the Czech carmaker had also showcased the top-of-the-line variant of the Kodiaq. And now, the carmaker has launched the Kodiaq L&K in India. While the Style variant costs Rs 34.83 lakh, the L&K trim has a price tag of Rs 35.99 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).

Just as we have seen on the other Skoda L&K models, the Kodiaq L&K gets minimal changes on the outside – a couple of L&K insignias and some chrome detailing at the front. But the inside gets some significant changes, though. The analogue display gets replaced by the new virtual cockpit screen that displays driver details as well as navigation. It also gets a 360-degree surround view system with four wide-angle cameras and piano black interior trim. It is equipped with features such as a TFT display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Smartlink, three-zone climate control and 12-way electrically adjustable front seats with memory function.

Under the hood, it gets the same 2.0-litre diesel engine that powers the Style variant. The oil-burner puts out 147bhp and 340Nm of pulling power and is paired to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. In terms of safety, it is equipped with ABS, EBD, ESP, parking sensors, hydraulic brake assist and nine airbags.

The Skoda Kodiaq rivals the Ford Endeavour, the Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming Mahindra Alturas G4.
