Audi announced the launch of its design icon, the Audi TT in India. Propelled by a 2.0 TFSI petrol engine, this high performance sports coupé is priced at Rs 48.36 lakh (ex-showroom Maharashtra), and will be available at Audi dealerships from June 2012.

The TT Coupé has grown by nearly two centimeters and now measures 4,187 mm in length, 1,842 mm in width and height of 1,353 mm. The wheelbase measures 2,468 mm.

Audi TT Coupé is powered by a 2.0 TFSI engine which combines sporty performance with efficiency. New to the TT is the 2.0 TFSI with 211 bhp and 350 Nm of torque at 1600 - 4200 rpm. The quattro permanent all-wheel drive system is standard for the 2.0 TFSI with the S tronic. With this combination, it sprints 0-100 kph in just 5.6 seconds.

The interior accents are provided by new aluminium-look applications and rings, frames and strips in high-gloss black. The leather seat covers are specially treated to reduce thermal heating by as much as 20 degrees Celsius when the TT is parked in the sun. The TT Coupé comes with a wide array of standard equipment. Among the highlights are the symphony audio system, a driver information system and an automatic climate control system. The onboard computer with efficiency program comes standard in the TT. It presents all consumption-relevant data on the central display, and gives tips for efficient driving.

The Audi TT was unveiled by Mr. Michael Perschke, Head, Audi India — “The Audi TT Coupé is an embodiment of a sports car which perfectly characterizes the core essence of our brand DNA, ‘Vorsprung durch Technik’. This high performance sports coupé is targeted at individuals who are dynamic and distinct and ones who aim to seek a sense of freedom. While we focus on the sportiness, at the same time we want to offer our customers the highly efficient and dynamic 2.0 TFSI engine. I am confident that the introduction of the Audi TT will further help us consolidate our leadership position in the sports car segment”
