Special edition Jeep Compass launched
Last year, Jeep unveiled its baby SUV, the Compass, which sent Shockwave across the compact SUV segment. The Compass is about to turn a year old, but celebrations have already begun. The American carmaker has sold 25,000 units of its baby SUV in less than a year. And to commemorate this, Jeep has launched a special edition christened ‘Bedrock’.
Based on the Sport trim, the special edition is available in three paint schemes – Vocal White, Minimal Grey and Exotica Red. Along with this, the other changes which the ‘Bedrock’ has received are 16-inch alloy wheels painted in gloss black, reverse parking camera, Bedrock-branded seat covers, black roof rails and new floor mats.
Mechanically, it remains unchanged. It is powered by the 2.0-litre turbo-diesel which produces 170bhp and 350Nm of twist. Power is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. In terms of safety, it is one of the safest compact SUVs out there. Don’t believe us? Well, here’s a detailed report of it getting five stars in the ANCAP crash test.
