Tata Motors rolls out 50,000th Nexon from its Ranjangaon facility
Tata had launched its first compact-SUV last year and since then, it has proven that it can withstand the challenges thrown at it from the likes of Maruti Suzuki Brezza and the Ford EcoSport. And rolling out 50,000 units of Nexon from its Ranjangaon facility is a proof that Tata's quirky-looking SUV is being loved by the masses.
With prices starting from Rs 6.15 lakh and going all the way up to Rs 10.59 lakh, the Nexon is available in 18 variants – 9 petrol and 9 diesel. There are two engine options available – a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre diesel. While the petrol motor churns out 110bhp and 170Nm of torque, the oil-burner produces the same amount of power but it produces 150Nm of excess torque over the petrol variant. The compact-SUV is also equipped with three drive modes – eco, city and sport – a manual tip-tronic mode, hill assist and creep function – this function helps the car move during traffic without pressing the accelerator.
The Nexon is equipped with a 6.5-inch touchscreen display, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice command, Harman stereo with eight speakers, driver's seat height adjust, among other things. The Nexon is possible the safest compact-SUV out there. Why are we saying this? Well, the eccentric SUV from Tata shined at the Euro NCAP by receiving four stars in adult occupant category and three stars in child occupant category. It is equipped with dual airbags at the front, ABS with EBD, park assist with camera, seat belt with pre-tensioners and load limiters and features like airbags and ABS are offered across the variants as standard, which is quite rare nowadays for a car in this segment.
