Facelifted Optra, now with a cracker of a diesel unit. Reasonably priced exec saloon. But the Cruze makes it a compromised buy.

Comfort

Leather, space, good ride. So comfort isn't an issue.
Performance

120bhp diesel and lots of torque gives you wheelspins in second gear.
Cool

Dull and uninspiring design. But it's cool if you want a Q-car. You know... not much show, plenty of go.
Quality

Nothing exceptional. But nothing that will put you off, either.
Handling

Capable chassis, but the steering doesn't offer enough feel.
Practicality

The extra length doesn't translate to extra space over something like a Fiesta.
Running costs

Being a diesel helps. Otherwise, things could have been expensive.
