  • Cool if you want an SUV. Not cool if what you want is a BMW.

It's a useful crossover, but doesn't offer the fun of driving a BMW, nor the off-road abilities of a Land Rover or the bragging rights of something like an X5

  • Comfort

    Spacious, but ride is too firm for an SUV.

  • Performance

    No complaints here. Petrol is smooth, but the diesel is the one to go for.

  • Cool

    Cool if you want an SUV. Not cool if what you want is a BMW.

  • Quality

    Nothing will fall out. Nothing will poke you. And it befits a luxury German brand.

  • Handling

    It's a BMW. So it handles really well. But if you are looking for the ultimate driving machine, you'd be better off with a sedan.

  • Practicality

    Spacious for five, enough room for luggage, and compact enough to pilot around in the city.

  • Running costs

    Like we said, petrol might get demanding. But the diesel is fairly efficient.
